Me & David Beckham

I've just got back to Doha after a month in the UK recharging the batteries ready for Qatar's big build up to the Fifa World Cup at the end of the year.

It's already been busy with soccer related work, voicing a training film for Gold Commanders on crowd control best practice, advertising fan accommodation packages for Accor, and this one, extolling the virtues of the Qatar One Pass, with David Beckham doing the visuals and me supplying the voice (It could so easily have been the other way round!).

The session took place just before I left for my holidays. One of those with a cast of thousands listening in ready to comment. The agency in Dubai, the client in Doha, the director in New York, and David's people too, somewhere else on planet earth.

More often than not, these high power sessions can be difficult with everyone chipping in with contradictory notes on my delivery but this one was different. The director had instructed the other interested parties to WhatsApp him any notes on my performance, and so his was the only voice I heard,

He was also very experienced in working with 'talent' and knew exactly how to get the best performance out of me while making the session fun, happy & creatively rewarding.
